Your support is required!

Hello fellow neighbors,

Our chance to self-govern is upon us again! Please sign the petition at your earliest convenience if you feel our community should have the right to vote for self-governance. This is ONLY for the right to vote, not to vote for or against incorporation. Our rights were taken away last year due to manipulation by surrounding communities and developers and we need to fight this. No government official should ever have the right to say that we DON’T have a right to vote. The Delegates Meeting will be held on Jan 12th, 2023. We now have newly elected Local Delegates that we need to reach out to and get beyond the point where we ended last year. This is a new petition so we would like to ask for 30 seconds of your time. The petition will automatically be sent to the Delegates. You can review the letter prior to filling it out so you can see what is being sent.

The petition can be found at https://votelox.com/petition/

We need as many to attend as possible, let’s not allow the surrounding communities and developers speak louder than us! If you wish to attend and need transportation, please let us know and we will see what arrangements can be made. Email us at info@votelox.com for any questions you may have.

The meeting details are as follows, be sure to mark your calendars;

January 12, 2023 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Els Center of Excellence
18370 Limestone Creek Rd.
Jupiter, FL 33458

Calculate Proposed Municipal Taxes

We have created a proposed municipal tax calculator for you to preview what the tax impact would be to you, if we were to become a municipality. The calculator asks for you to input current 2022 Tax Values and ITID Assessment values and it does the rest of the work for you.

To get the information, it can be found at the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s site by entering your last name or address, for your convenience click the link https://www.pbcgov.org/papa/

Instructions for how to find the data needed is set out below with screenshots and the tax calculator can be found below that.

First, find your Taxable Value of your property, as shown below and write this number down.

Second, find your ITID non-ad valorem assessment and R3 values by clicking the “Property Tax Detail” link on the screen as shown below:

You will need to write both the Indian Trail Assessment and the R3 assessment values down.

Now that you have the required information, you can enter the data in the fields below as prompted on the form.

Below is an explanation of the calculation used for your proposed taxes and ITID assessment if we were to become a municipality.

  1. The Taxable Value is the amount that is used to calculate ad valorem assessments by Counties and municipalities. The proposed millage rate for the Town of Loxahatchee is 3 mills. If you multiply the 2022 Taxable Value by .003, you will get what the municipal taxes will be ie. $199,246 x .003 = $597.74
  2. It is proposed that Indian Trail Improvement District will reduce their services to primarily drainage. There will be an interlocal agreement between the ITID Board and the future council of the municipality, outlining the turnover of responsibilities and assets thereby reducing the budget requirements to run ITID to 1/3 of the current budget. We project that this will reduce the tax assessment needed for ITID to 33.33% of the current assessment plus the R3 Bond debt. Therefore if you multiply your current ITID assessment by 33.33%, this will give you the new ITID assessment, not including the Bond. It is projected that the R3 Bond amount will remain the same for the time being. ie. $1238 x .3333 (or 33.33%) = $412.63 plus the R3 Bond amount, $91.00 = $503.63 is what will be paid to ITID.
  3. Now if you add the calculated amount from #1 to #2, you will get what the proposed taxes will be, if incorporated to the municipality and to ITID. ie. $597.74 + $503.63 = $1101.37
  4. If you take the total from #3 and subtracted what you currently pay to ITID including the R3 Bond, you will get the Tax Impact amount. If it is a positive number, this is the amount your taxes are projected will increase. If it is a negative number, this is the amount your taxes are projected to decrease ie. $1101.37 – $1238.28 = $-136.91. Therefore, this resident’s taxes will decrease by $136.91 with incorporation.

09/22/2022 Grievance Hearing @ Acreage Library

Representative Roth held productive hearings on June 22nd and July 18th, where a multitude of grievances with Planning and Zoning were discussed. Due to the outpouring of serious concerning stories, Representative Roth wants to expand the reach of these proceedings to include all residential community members, particularly those zoned Ag / Residential, who may have similar issues. This follow up meeting will be a General Public meeting where anyone may attend. If you have had problems with actions taken by Palm Beach County Planning and Zoning or Code Enforcement, please attend and invite any neighbors who have had similar issues.

Anyone attending either remote or in person is required to register. For those people attending in person, please contact Sheila Jackson to register. Additionally, please notify her if you wish to speak. Sheila.Jackson@myfloridahouse.gov

For those people attending via Zoom, please contact Jon Carter to register. Additionally, please notify him if you wish to speak. Joncarterusa@gmail.com. Registered zoom attendees will receive a link to join the meeting, which will only be accessible by the registrants email address. We will prepare a list of people that wish to speak in order of registration. To be clear, people that pre-registered to speak in person will speak first, followed by those filling out comment cards, followed by those who wish to speak online if time allows.

There are two distinct reasons for this format. Most importantly, the purpose is to inform and build a group of concerned residents. The only purpose of registration is to identify those concerned citizens who participated, to facilitate future correspondence on code enforcement issues.

Respectfully,
Representative Rick Roth

PBC BCC Meeting 09/01/2022 re: Commercial vehicles

Hello resident, for those that have been involved or wish to get involved regarding the County’s stance on the allowance of commercial vehicles, they have a meeting planned for 09/01/2022 @ 9:30 at the government building at 301 N. Olive Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Unfortunately, we have yet to be officially notified of this meeting, I just so happened to find a screen shot of the email below posted by a local resident. This is how the treatment of our community continues to be handled by PBC. Luckily, one resident was notified but that seems to be the ongoing case, let as little as possible know what’s going on out here. I have since wrote our Commissioner the displeasure for the lack of communication again, for a second time, regarding this particular matter. If you are able to attend, please do. If this is too short of notice, and understandably so, we apologize but it was out of our control. Below is the meeting details and it includes links where it can be viewed online or TV (Local TV channel 20, also Channel 20 on Xfinity. I will add the link separately as the links can’t be clicked on from the image. The agenda for this meeting is also below, commercial vehicles will be discussed on agenda item 4D-Excutive Director’s comments.

Shops of Indian Trails – Neighborhood Presentation

Shops at Indian Trails Presentation 08-10-2022 held at ITID office. This is the commercial project being built on the SW corner of Coconut Blvd and Northlake Blvd. This project includes several retail stores, restaurants, banks and a grocery stores. These are the changes proposed and will be submitted to the County for approval. They have agreed to keep the frontages more towards a rustic look as compared to strip stores found everywhere. Cracker Barrel was an example they used as an appearance style. Presentation and drawing files below.
