It was mentioned a couple properties were not wanting to be included in municipality.  How can they have that choice exactly? what conditions have to be met for them to say “no thanks” and it’s accepted?

The boundaries were decided by the ITID FCR committee of properties within the existing legislative boundaries of Indian Trail. The existing active units must be included. Enclaves can not be created. Enclaves means properties cannot be surrounded on 3 or 4 sides. The citizen’s group decided to honor the boundary decisions of the FCR committee.

Large tract landowners such as the GL homes property and FPL have agreed to be included (the South of Orange portions of their property).

There are HOA’s excluded. White Fences was always excluded from the boundaries of the District. Deer Run and Fox Trail has expressed they do not want to be included. Lion Country Safari is excluded. None of these areas currently receive services from the district.
